Review of City of Ember (2008) by Andy S — 06 Apr 2012
This film is ripe with possibility but sadly misses the mark. A huge setting of a dystopic post-apocalyptic world it falls flat at really creating any scale in it's vision. There is a great possible "mythology" about the "Builders" thats just gets squandered.
There MUST be a larger version of this film. Clocking in at around 90 minutes it feels like there is so much more we are not seeing that explains in greater detail the story. Its too bad really, because the basic premise is very interesting.
