For those that have read the book the choices made by the director and screen adapter will leave one scratching their head. The alterations to the story did not seem necessary, nor did they add to the entertainment.
In the end, the target audience of preteen to early teen kids will enjoy. For adults watching with them it will leave more "what might have been" in your heads than what was.
