Review of City Lights (2014) by Prentis C — 04 Feb 2010
Charlie Chaplain was a master at film. Although being another silent film, this portrayed key themes and morals for the viewers to consider.
One especially important idea was the line of sight. The drunk being only able to see the Tramp when intoxicated made for a very interesting story line, and quite humorous at that. Another important line of sight idea in the film was the flower girl, who loved the Tramp based soley on his generosity and not his looks. She realizes this in the end when she gets her eyes fixed through surgery. A great ending for a film in my opinion.
I give this film a 100% Tomato Rating.
