Although the talkies were hitting hard with the public, the fact that Chaplin decided the picture should go on as a silent film keeps not only the charm and wonder of the loveable Tramp, but makes for one of the most satisfying romantic comedies I've ever seen.
And one of the few movies that actually made me laugh out loud.
