Review of City Lights (1931) by Valerie M — 14 Jun 2009
I watched this right after Trainspotting, which was a mistake. After such an intense film, The Tramp's antics, though endearing, were not enough to keep my attention. I did pay attention during the last scene, but a gigantic spider fell onto my computer monitor and I screamed and ran away, and then the movie ended.
So not a very good viewing experience. I'll have to watch it again someday, especially since it was apparently Orson Welles's favorite film of all time.
