Review of City Lights (1931) by Nick L — 15 Aug 2009
Growing up, I thought silent films were always cheesy old timer movies that someone like me would never be able to relate to. Charlie Chaplin films were all I remember knowing about the silent films. As i've actually have matured and have begun watching some of the classic silent films, I have grown to appreciate them alot more.
Some More than others. Charlie Chaplin's City Lights is a hilarious and heartfelt film and proves to me that Chaplin silent films have alot more to them then just slapstick jokes. this film does have plot and has some really creative funny bits of sequence.
Charlie Chaplin is the master of facial expressions and body movement for sure.
