Review of City Lights (1931) by Steve M — 13 Mar 2011
As funny as it is heartwarming. Chaplin's greatest feat as a filmmaker imo. With the gold rush (Chaplin's favorite) I felt as if there's an uneven balance of sentimental love and comedy but it's never been balanced better than here.
It also features some of Chaplin's greatest gags like a boxing match that's almost done in just one take. Amazing to say the least.
