Review of City Lights (1931) by Sumit S — 17 Mar 2013
One of the finest achievements in the history of cinema, City Lights shows one of world cinema's most gifted talents crafting his finest work with precision accuracy & artistry. Hilarious throughout the runtime, City Lights presents Charlie Chaplin at his absolute best, both in front & behind the camera.
It's superbly directed, wonderfully acted, beautifully scored, & culminates with one of the most heartbreaking as well as heartwarming finale in cinema history. A masterpiece of both romance & comedy, City Lights is one of the greatest films of all time that has successfully stood the test of time & will do so for a long long time.
