Review of City Lights (1931) by J J — 26 May 2011
City Lights - 10/10.
Had possibly the greatest ending of all time. Never have I felt such a sudden rush of emotion like I did with this film, yet it was so simple, so basic; universal love story that everyone should be able to relate too. Not dated in the slightest like I thought it'd be, just a wonderful blend of comedy, action and romance. A true timeless classic, having watched Chaplin's other films, I'd have to say that this is his definitive masterpiece.
