Review of City Island (2009) by Eddie R — 27 Aug 2010

I was expecting an interesting film when I read the story synopsis on the DVD case of this release. What I wasn't expecting was the non-stop laughter and heartfelt storyline of what is possibly the funniest and well crafted movies I've seen in a long while.

Each character in this movie is utilized perfectly to serve the story with very little filler or wasted screen time. I love a movie that just comes out of nowhere and sweeps you off your feet without relying on a gimmick replacing a big budget, just honest storytelling and excellent acting.

Seriously, see this movie!
