Review of Citizenfour (2014) by Ryan B — 26 Nov 2014
This kid is full of s**t. He says in the doc that he's willing to go to prison to live in a free country and yet he's hiding in Russia (a decidedly "un-free" country) and refuses to face justice.
This film, though completely sympathetic to Snowden and totally disinterested in painting a full picture of the broader impact of his actions, only makes him look even more sad and pathetic. The film itself is atrocious; long sequences of Snowden sitting in a hotel room staring off into space.
I found this film tedious and repetitive with no new information shed on Snowden or his story and the fawning over Snowden only drags the film from being even passively compelling.
