Review of Citizenfour (2014) by Dorianator F — 05 Feb 2015
Rarely do we get to see history being made; with Citizenfour we get a birds eye view into a fascinating chapter of recent American history and politics. Not only that, but as much as it's a documentary that we know the outcome of (broadly, since the full story isn't complete), Citizenfour also plays as a great thriller.
Pretty much everything Edward Snowden says is super interesting, and it's fascinating to watch the process of how his story was brought to the public awareness. It also works on the simply human level of watching a guy who is obviously very intelligent and knows pretty well the exact stakes he's about to embark on to start dealing with it emotionally.
Completely captivating.
