One of the best thrillers ever, and its a documentary? Yes it is! Citizenfour is documentary film about Edward Snowden and the NSA, and their terrifying reach into privacy probes after 9/11. The movie is slow to start but once the main subject is introduced, it gets really really good.
The movie captures real paranoid, this isn't some Bourne flick or Enemy of the State like chase movie, this is real life. Laura Poitras was probably followed around for doing this, and its equal parts horror and thriller film, and its all terrifyingly real.
