Review of Citizen Kane (1941) by Craig H — 20 Jun 2012
For me, it is a movie difficult to valorate: true it was the first one to show some technical effects on cinema, but that is something that was not appreciated in its day but after time, and that is difficult to appreciate now that you have seen the same trick repeated and copied.
The narration looked to me a little dull, although, if you look from outside, it is an epic story about an epic man, with great shots. I think other works from Welles show better his geniality, and combine his master for direction with a good story you thrill with.
However, it is clear the movie has become iconic.
