Review of Citizen Kane (1941) by Brandon C — 26 Aug 2015
The greatest American film of all time!!! There's nothing else to say besides maybe it changed the way cinema was told on screen for the last almost 70 years. This deserves every praise and glory it gets.
A film before its own time. daring editing and cinematography, controversial subject matter, set design and costumes that'll make any modern designers with mega boner. adding to that the hard to believe fact that that even getting several Oscar nominations only winning one for Best Original Screenplay thanks to the works of the man behind the subject-matter newspaper icon William Randolph Hearst sort of blacklisting him Mr.
Orson Welles accomplished all of this by the age of just 25 years old and it was his first major Hollywood film, his maiden voyage perse. just as a joke what have you done with your life so far? ;).
