Review of Citizen Kane (1941) by Josh G — 25 May 2012
Though I wouldn't call Citizen Kane a personal favorite, I like this movie a lot. Pretty much all the praise it receives is correct and it is still technically phenomenal. Orson Welles gives a monomaniacal performance as Charles Foster Kane that is heightened by the brilliant cinematography.
Each shot is meticulously planned and executed and is no less than the work of a master. The AFI dubbed Citizen Kane as the greatest film of all time. Is it? Well, let me put it this way, it's hard not to appreciate it.
