Review of Citizen Kane (1941) by Jackson C — 04 Sep 2012
On a pure enjoyment level, Citizen Kane may seem out of date for people of our age. But on a grander, cinematic level, this movie is no doubt a masterpiece. It is really not difficult to tell why Citizen Kane has been considered one of the most significant movie in history.
For a movie shot in 1941, its cinematic techniques used in this film could be considered pioneering even when compared next to movies in the 50s. The storyline itself is also so well constructed that has been making audiences ponder to this date.
Perhaps what is most striking and magnificent about the film is that every sound, image, and shot meant something deeper, albeit some of them not as obvious.
