I tried to watch this once before and was bored out of my brains; now I am older and have seen many of the so-called classics, I thought I was ready to be blown away by this masterpiece. How wrong I was, not that I'm not ready but, by the hype.
It's still quite boring, and, while I can see why it was so popular in 1941, let's be honest and admit that it doesn't stand up to many many better films that have been made since. Just because it has been called the greatest film ever made for 60 years, it doesn't make it true.
