Review of Citizen Kane (1941) by Hannah G — 15 May 2013
"Rosebud". The one word that anyone who has seen this movie, can relate to. Overall, this drama was a classic. It turned out to be a must- see because of the lessons that it brought to the table.
Made in 1941, this movie brought question to the audience's minds, What is rosebud? To this day, the film is puzzling to watchers because of its ability, yet inability to answer that question. To me, this movie was confusing, but it was a great story told by Orson Welles.
Over all, I think that more needed to be explained, but the structure of it was amazing anyways. It leaves the audience wondering and wanting more, which can be good, but also bad if there is no resolution.
