Review of Citizen Kane (1941) by Josh K — 20 Dec 2013
Widely referred to as a classic, it heavily deserves that recognition. After Charles Foster Kane dies in his Florida estate and says only one word before dying, a reporter attempts to figure out his path and also find out what the phrase refers to.
Welles appears mostly in flashback and while doing so delivers an amazing performance, as the everchanging Kane. The supporting cast is magnificent, while the cinematography is amazing with the black and white photography.
The film's great influence over newer films can be greatly seen, while the film stands out as a great classic alongside other terrific classics. Welles has done a terrific job.
