Review of Citizen Kane (1941) by Nam L — 26 Apr 2014

Amazing movie. Stunning. In terms of technicality, this is a 5 out of 5 star movie. In terms of my personal enjoyment, 4 stars. I enjoyed it very much, but there were parts that I felt went a little slow, and I'm sure that's just me.

It's not like I can't appreciate this movie, I'm not some kid who doesn't understand it, it just didn't entertain me as much as other movie that I claim 5 stars to be. In any case, this is a work of art and it's no wonder it's legendary.

I love the theme and underlying message, and Orson Welles wrote, directed, and performed a very strong, unstoppable figure. Kane is a great character, and his faults make him all the more glorious, just his presence makes you go "Damn, that guy is king".
