Review of Citizen Kane (1941) by Ken S — 21 Feb 2015
This film is often regarded as one of the best ever made. The first time I saw it I was very underwhelmed, but then I saw it again, and started to see just how beautifully it is shot, how good the acting is, and how good it really is.
Now I've seen it for a third time, this time in glorious hi-def blu-ray...and you know what? It truly is a cinematic classic. I doubt it will ever be a film I want to watch as often as I feel that compulsion to watch "Casablanca", but Orson Welles' masterpiece is just that.
It is a film that broke several rules and changed the way artistic cinema is produced.
