Review of Citadel (2012) by Steve H — 05 Apr 2013
It's the little things this film does that make it work. The film implements the very subtle use of sound and barely perceptible movement to help the viewer understand just how crippling the main character Tommy's fear has become.
It doesn't focus so much on scaring the viewer, but once it helps viewers understand the fear that has become such an integral part of Tommy's life, it then makes them feel it. The transformation and evolution of the film's main and dynamic character is not an overly long, drawn out fiasco.
It is however swift, and draws viewers into feeling an unrelenting sense of hope and compassion for Tommy. Overall, it's a good film.
