Review of Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009) by Melanie K — 06 Aug 2010
Now this was different. Dark, intriguing...but not totally convincing. I did enjoy "Cirque du Freak" though because all the different characters were really nicely written and portrayed and it was quite nice to see so many well-known faces in comparatively small roles, such as Salma Hayek, Ken Watanabe or Jane Krakowski. Oh, and I definitely loved Ray Stevenson as evil 'vampanese' with long black hair *gg*.
All in all, "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire Assistant" is a decent vampire movie that is a nice change to the whole "Twilight" hype even though this movie, too, is based on a book series for kids. Give it a shot, guys...
