Review of Circumstance (2011) by Pourya E — 31 Jul 2012
Maryam Keshavarz has managed to do something of an impossible, she has tackled a taboo in a country which does not tolerate its manifestation, let alone allow cinematic adaptation. And she has done it graphically, yet sensually! The production design and the cast's performance deliver such a credibility that gives the whole production a sense of authenticity that is hard to achieve.
Other than the second gen actresses' accents its really hard to tell that this is not being made in actual Iran!
