Review of Circle of Iron (1978) by Allan C — 07 Oct 2016
Weak marital arts film is sadly an unrealized project from Bruce Lee. To add even more insult to injury here, David Carradine was cast in the role that would have gone to Bruce Lee, just as what happened earlier when Carradine was selected over Lee to star in the Kung-Fu TV series that Lee helped to create and originally supposed to star in.
You can tell there are seeds of a good film here as a young man goes on a journey to find the true meaning of life and marital arts, but the whole thing just comes off as pretentious and downright silly.
The film doesn't even feature very good of martial arts sequences. Christopher Lee, Roddy McDowall, and Eli Wallach also appear in the film.
