Iffy acting and a slightly disappointingly straightforward premise, but easily compensated for by the engrossingly rapid tone, entertaining mind-games, and strangely visceral highs and lows. It's like a morbid reality TV show, except somehow divorced from the gross stupidity normally associated with that genre (mostly).
