Review of Cinema Paradiso (1988) by William B — 12 Apr 2010
After watching this gem I'm definatly going to watch many more films not in the english language, because to be honest this was twice as good as most of the garbage hollywood churns out every year.
To be honest this should be the perfect film for lovers film, because it's about FILM! And in a way it really is, and it gives the brilliant message of how life isn't like what you see in films 'Lifes is much harder' to quote Alfredo who was question by Toto if what he said was a quote from a Henry Fonda film.
And the whole idea of film keeps on throughout the film even when Toto is in the Army or with Elena.
Certainly deserved the Oscar, with a great cast all round, many funny moments and memorable charcters Cinema Paradiso is one to watch again.
5/5.
