Review of Cinema Paradiso (1988) by J J — 26 May 2011
A famous director recalls his childhood in Sicily where his infatuation with movies began, leading to an unlikely friendship between him and the local theatre projectionist. Just a beautiful film, enhanced by a wonderful score from Ennio Morricone.
The first half was virtually flawless but there was a drop in quality as the film went on, my main criticism of the film is the casting of the director as a teenager, they just got a really poor actor.
This movie highlights the beauty and influence of film, anyone who loves movies will find something to love here.
