Review of Cinema Paradiso (1988) by Fredrick R — 09 Aug 2010
Nostalgic sentimental view of a filmmaker who looks back at his child hood when he fell in love with the movies of the 40s and 50s, and the local film projectionist who becomes his father figure.
Not sure if the schmaltzy, overly long final third of the movie is supposed to be over the top in TRIBUTE to Hollywood movies of the golden age, but its a little too sweet for me.
