Review of Cinema Paradiso (1988) by Benjamin Z — 20 Nov 2010
Guiseppe Tornatore's masterpiece,a timeless classic,...with one of the best and most beautiful ending in the whole history of cinema. An extraordinary celebration of youth, friendship and the everlasting magic of movies,a film that everytime I wach it,takes me back to my childhood in Nicaragua and all those nights I spent in the theater discovering and falling in love with the stories, the music, the stars that came througt the screen, while outside a war,a revolution was going on.
I found refuge in the movies,...that's why I love this film so much and I identify myself with it,my all-time favorite. The whole cast is amazing, and Ennio Morricone's music is breathtaking and sublime,.
..moviemaking at it's supreme best,a wonder of the world!!! If there were A Nobel Prize for movies as there is for fiction writing, Guiseppe Tornatore for sure will be a winner for this amazing superb film!
