Cinema Paradiso is a stunning Italian film, following the life of Toto, a young boy who always had a live for movies, and his much older friend Alfredo. Seeing posters for Gone with the Wind, Buster Keaton, and Chaplin really made you feel like you were in the 1930s Italy.
All these people had were movies. As the theater was run by the church every kiss scene was cut out, and this film provided a wonderful anti-censorship message.
