Renee Zellweger is the Tom Petty of performing actresses. She's talented, but she is just not attractive. That said, I surprisingly really really like this film. I heard that Crowe's performance was self-righteous, but if it was I overlooked it entirely.
Great great work by him. But, however inspiring the story is, it is obscenely predictable, Braddock is one of the most boring characters I have ever seen (where are the human flaws? who wants to see a movie featuring a lead with no inadequacies?), and there is no chemistry in the romance.
