Review of Cinderella Man (2005) by Lee B — 30 Dec 2009
This movie is pretty standard, but probably just above standard because the boxing scenes, set-up, in ring, performances, visual style, all good. The rest is a good uplifting overall story, but a lot of the scenes were very flat for me. Still there was a lot of style to everything related to the boxing.
From what I knew about Max Baer, he wasn?t like the tuxedo wearing heathen that was in this movie, but I guess there had to be villain other than the depression. And the brother-in-law or whatever he was angle just seemed forced. We know the depression was tough and sucked toes, but nobody cared about the guy.
