Review of Cinderella Man (2005) by Sean P — 20 May 2011
This is probably the best boxing film I've seen, and I don't really like or encourage fighting. I haven't seen the Rocky films in years, and those would be what I would compare it to. It was shot brilliantly; Crowe and Zellewiger work great together; and both deliver touching performances.
I wasn't around when James Braddock was a boxer, but by watching this film you get a good idea of what the world was like in that time period, and what he was fighting for. I'm probably one of the biggest film buffs AND Russell Crowe fans in the world and can't believe it took me 6 years until I finally got around to this masterpiece.
