Cinderella Man does not necessarily bring anything new to the dozens of great boxing movies, but I am a sucker for this kind of underdog story. You really get a sense of the trials and tribulations of Great Depression.
The boxing scenes are very well edited and directed. This might be my favorite Russell Crowe performance and also my favorite Ron Howard movies since Apollo 13. I also love the supporting performances by Giamatti: a very underrated actor.
Overall, Cinderella Man is one of the most inspirational movies of recent years.
