Review of Cinderella Man (2005) by Sandeep K — 26 Mar 2011
Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger headline this boxing-come-back cliche, and in their defense-- they do it well, but sadly not as well as their supporting actor, Paul Giamatti-- who deserves more credit for his small role.
This is an average movie in every sense of the word. The direction, though pretty, was the same as it will ever be for a boxing movie-- interesting, but not unique. The acting was good overall, but there were several dips in talent. The score is not-memorable, the plot is overused and oversold, and is in no way "touching". But... looking past all of the monotonous factors, it was entertaining, and worth a view.
