WOW I just watched this movie last night and loved it , I will definitley watch any future movie that combines Ron Howard with Russell Crowe for I also loved A Beautiful Mind ....
I think this movie is for both genders: for males to watch ( it has the guyish stuff like boxing and the struggle of a man responsible for a family ) and it's also good for females to watch ( for the great chemistry between Russell and Renee and the love between them that never changed during fame or the depression time ).
My fav scene was the one in the table when his daugther was hungry for another plate to eat so he told her he had a dream that he ate a big feast and he's stuffed and then gave her his plate .... so touching.
Oh it's based on a true story which makes it more interesting.
