Review of Cinderella (2015) by Aly M — 30 May 2015
This film was truly beautiful. It was also charming at times. Problems: It was much too white. The animals which were supposed to be cute appeared actually quite creepy. They made Robb Stark look like a vampire.
Cinderella was annoying as fuck. (Was she traditionally that annoying?) The fairy godmother seemed completely disorganized and bad at her job. The action sequences didn't fit in very well at all. The final wedding scene definitely could have been cooler.
The bribery twist was an uninteresting and un-enchanting deviation from the traditional story. I seem to recall an even more traditional Cinderella where the stepsisters cut their own feet to try to fit the slipper.
