I'm your hairy god father.

Ella's mother died at a young age leaving just her and her dad. She was best friends with her dad and supported him remarrying and moving two step sisters into the house with her. They are very snotty sisters, but she treats them politely out of respect for her dad. One day her father dies in an unfortunate accident, leaving his riches to her wicked step mother and her brat sisters. She remains treated poorly until fortune shines on all single women in the land, but her step mother and sisters will stop at nothing to0 ensure Ella doesn't enjoy local event.

"We've got a halfwit for a sister.".

"I've got two.".

Kenneth Branagh, director of Thor, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Sleuth, A Midwinter's Tale, Hamlet, Henry V, Peter's Friend, and Dead Again, delivers Cinderella. The storyline for this picture is interesting but a bit slow in parts for the target audience. The special effects were cool but in short supply until the last third of the movie. The acting is solid and the cast includes Cate Blanchett, Lily James, Helena Bonham Carter, Richard Madden, Nonso Anozie, and Ben Chaplin.

"Your mother's taste was questionable.".

I've wanted to watch this with my daughter since the previews first came out and recently grabbed this from Red Box. I was a little disappointed and definitely thought this was well put together and had wonderful potential, but it was a bit stale and dry in portions. Overall, this may be worth viewing once but falls flat and is far from a must own for the DVD collection.
