Review of Cinderella (1965) by Chris M — 07 Aug 2008
Lesley Ann Warren is a wonderful Cinderella, Stuart Damon a fantastic prince, and the rest of the veteran cast are just as splendid in this spirited retelling of the famus fairy tale. However, much like the original version of this musical staring Julie Andews, the script is dreadful, filled with such childish dialouge and boring conflicts that the story and characters are not allowed to grow. The music is still just as beautiful and brilliant this time around.
This was followed by a lackluster third version of the musical staring a fantastic Brandy and a coked out Whitney Houston.
Great, campy fun for the kids and nostalgic adults.
