Review of Chungking Express (1994) by Adam G — 14 Aug 2008
A well-structured, stylistically impressive film about the ups and downs of love with some strong performances from Takeshi Kaneshiro and the ever-reliable Tony Leung, and some sublime cinematography and music choices (though California Dreamin gets annoying after the eighth time).
However, it is a little slow, a little melodramatic (particularly in the first story), and not as smart as it would like to think it is.
