Review of Chungking Express (1994) by Bo H — 31 Jan 2009
This movie can remind you of some bad times and expected good times. However, the movie doesn't lead you on to what you expect. The first story is great and weird. A broken-hearted cop falling for a woman who is a bad ass and a smuggler. The second story is completely different even though it's about another cop. A girl who is nothing short of weird falls for a cop who went through a break up. The style of the movie is terrific and is presented in a way that the watcher can relate to. The contrast between the stories is very entertaining. The soundtrack is amazing and I loved the cover of "Dreams" originally by the Cranberries.
P.S. I just found out that Faye Wong, the weird girl, was the one who covered the Cranberries song, very cool.
