Review of Chronicle (2012) by Themadcritic — 16 Mar 2012
Chronicle's portrayal of superheroes is dark, gritty and true to life. The found-footage theme does add an amount of realism, and adds a certain emotional impact to the characters that other found footage movies haven't done before.
The films morality theme plays out nicely with clever writing and characters you can relate to, however, the pacing can be slow and only seems to pick up around a third of the film. Another issue is the CGI that does seem outdated but isn't bad enough to pull you out of the experience.
Overall, Chronicle is a movie you can't miss, with a great story and amazing new actors, Chronicle is a true modern great.
