Review of Chronicle (2012) by Youssef B — 18 Apr 2014
Amid the rush of superhero movies commanding viewers' attention in 2012, we find Chronicle. While on the surface it appears to merely be a comedy about three teenage boys acquiring superpowers, the film quickly reveals itself to be much more than that.
Director Josh Trank has brought us something utterly unique; a film that takes two well-worn genres, puts them together, and creates something wonderfully interesting. With a smart script, brilliant acting from its three leads, and a story that will forcefully grab the viewer's attention, Chronicle is one of the best films of 2012.
