Review of Christopher Robin (2018) by Carla S — 18 Aug 2018
One of the most touching, bittersweet and beautiful film I've seen in ages. Ten minutes of it and I had tears in my eyes. And it happened many times during the whole thing. I was expecting cuteness but not a puddle of bittersweet emotions as well.
Of course, the movie has its flaws (Hayley Atwell was in it and yet they only threw her some lines. What a shame!) and Pooh and his friends may not have the best design, but quite honestly it's all forgotten by the moment you take a look at them interacting and being adorable.
And some scenes and lines made my eyes all watery. The movie may have some clichés here and there, but it is all about how it's delivered, and I was not disappointed! Too bad critics are too concerned about labelling the film as a child's movie or an adult's movie, instead of truly appreciating it for what it is.
Maybe it's proof that as we grow older, we lose sight of things and stop enjoying what it's right before our eyes.
