Review of Christopher Robin (2018) by Pedro B — 08 Aug 2018
This was pretty adorable, but I agree with The Atlantic reviewer - there was a significant amount of adult Weltschmerz. I really hate movies where the protagonist is made to feel guilty about doing his or her adult duty of being responsible, and I thought that I was going to leave this movie angry as a result.
"Stop complaining, how do you think your house and cottage are paid for, anyway?" But it pulled back from that theme, and allowed C.R. to be both the dad he needs to be, without discounting the critical role he had as provider.
