I don't agree with the extremely low ratings this film has received though I do recognize it isn't spectacular. This is a nice Christmas comedy that challenges the Christmas traditions and tries to get the viewers to recognize that there is more to Christmas than commercial implications.
The Kranks are annual Christmas guru's with spectacular decorations but decide to spend their money elsewhere for a year and actually save money by taking a cruise in the Caribbean. This is a good movie to watch again every couple of years but is not a annual viewing such as a Christmas Story or Bad Santa.
