Review of Christmas with the Kranks (2004) by Amanda W — 17 Dec 2012

I have no idea why it's rated so poorly here. It was far from a phenomenal movie, but it certainly wasn't unbearable either. It was a cute film with a touching ending and good for a few chuckles - nothing special, but an easy and enjoyable Christmas movie.

I also don't agree with the people who think the message of the film is to simply conform - the reason they finally celebrated Christmas wasn't to appease the naysayers, it was to make their daughter happy and get to spend time with her. Was the community's initial reaction annoying and wrong? Absolutely, but that wasn't why they changed their minds.
