Review of Christmas Evil (1980) by Thomas D — 08 Dec 2010
'25 DAYS OF HELLIDAY HORROR'.
#7: CHRISTMAS EVIL aka: YOU BETTER WATCH OUT! (1980).
It was about a kid named Harry who witnesses Santa fondling his mom on Christmas night. He discovers that Santa is really his father and learns that Santa is in fact not real. Later on in his life he grows up to be a lonely, middle aged man who works at a toy factory and loves the spirit of Christmas. After dealing with countless acts of torment and ridicule from his snobby co-workers, Harry snaps and becomes Santa Clause! At Christmas time he makes a Santa suit and goes around doing all kinds of good deeds for those deserving and good, but for those naughty and evil, he really go's and serves them up "santa style"! Watch for the 'christmas tree star' throat slash! It was one of the more interesting kills.
Overall: The movie was quite boring at times and lacked pace, but it contained a proper amount of good elements to make for a worthy movie. It had lots of laughs as well as a very realistic portrayal of a depressed, spiraling sociopath. It did have some classic kills and contained some pretty good acting. 'Christmas Evil' is also the first of the many 'Killer Santa' films in the line up for '25 Days of Helliday Horror'. Oh goody! Well theres more evil Santa to come...up next: 'PSYCHO SANTA'! Merry Christmas to all.
